Papier-Saat
Samenschoten, Saathülsen faszinieren mich immer wieder. Oft haben sie interessante Formen, sind ästhetisch und haben dazu noch faszinierende Mechanismen. So haben mich diese Schoten von Robinien Robinia pseudoacacia (?) auf einem Spaziergang angelacht und gereizt, etwas daraus zu machen, naja, aus Papier, nicht aus den Schoten.
1 Schoten nachgebastelt und auf einem Fotoausdruck ausgelegt.
2 Außerdem habe ich wieder einen Fotoausdruck bestickt und ein in schwarzweiß umgewandeltes Bild mit Schrift bearbeitet.
In schwarzweiß umgewandelt. frei gestellt, ausgedruckt, beschrieben.
I love seed pods! They look interesting, are asthetic and often have a fascinating mechanism. On a walk I passed trees, I think it was Robinia pseudoacacia and I thought instantly of doing something with it. So I created a kind of copy out of paper. I made a printout from a photo of Robinia and put them on it for these photos.
In a next step I processed the original photo, turned it into black and white and put it free. I wrote words between the black areas and finally used a light.
Further on I took a processed printout of the seeds and did some stitching with my sewing machine. Again I used some light. Don’t ask me why ;-) I just like to try different things and the light can change the view.

Einerseits würde ich dir zustimmen, andererseits gibt es Situationen, da passiert etwas, hinter dem kein Ziel steckt, aber das ist schwierig zu beweisen ;-)

Once again, you’ve done things that I doubt anyone else would have thought of. The first three are like illustrations of the way an artist’s mind can abstract a shape from nature – there it is, the original and the artist’s rendition, together. Another thing that strikes me about those photos is the equal „weight“ of the original and your pods – my eyes are interested in both, as a whole, or maybe as a gestalt.
The sewn photo lends an airy feeling to the image – the stitches carry one’s eyes out to the sky in a delightful way. Pods, seeds, branches, and sky are all connected. I like it when you shine a light on your work and add shadows, textures, etc. I’m always a little frustrated by the images with writing because I want to know what the words say so I wonder if I’m missing something – but I’m obviously not missing anything, no, I’m lucky to see all of these. :-) Wonderful work!

Thank you very much for your kind comment! You may find the words, I can’t describe it. I have to do it, but I can hardly explain it. It was, what I felt I had to try :-) Don’t worry about the words. I write a few sentences with a bit of sense, but my writing is not really nice so I try to write illegible :-) Of course one could fill the space with more sense. If I have a good idea I may write „nicer“ ;-) I am rather frustrated by my handwriting. I think the Computer ruins it.

That’s funny, what you said about writing illegibly since you can’t decide what to write. :-)
It could be interesting to fill the space with words that aren’t related at all, then the viewer might work to find meaning. I’m sure you’re right about all the screen time ruining our handwriting (not just yours!!). Worse than that, is the way the internet shortens our attention span, don’t you think? And it gets us into bad habits, like reading fast to get a general idea and then moving on because there are so many more things to read. We are teaching ourselves to be shallow.

That is a good idea! If I have an idea for that, I will give it a try. I agree with you. The possiblities are great, the connections and everything, so much toe see and read, but we loose a lot too. March does that – one day, or one week, it’s beautiful and you’re filled with excitement, the next day or week it’s back to feeling like winter. But the crocuses are blooming and I’m sure there are lots of buds in the woods! We have the usual days of temperatures around 5 – 9C and now it rarely freezes overnight. But it doesn’t get very warm, either. The bigger change that appears to be happening here is that the winter rains are ending earlier so the dry season is getting longer. That will stress some plants but I assume others will like it.

Thank you! – Our temperatures are similar at the moment, but before the weekend we had some heavy frost, about minus 6 to 8 degrees. That is much for this time of the year. Not totally unusual, but rather seldom. And we had 20 degrees plus in february. Well the bees are flying as soon as the sun is out, so everything is okay :-)
I just saw pictures from Australia – unbelievable right, after all these fires last time!

Unleserliche Schrift suchst du? Formal? Eigenartige Idee, die den ursprünglichen Sinn ins Gegenteil kippt. Und mir ganz vertraut.

Ich weiß nicht, ob ich dich jetzt richtig verstehe? Ich meinte, daß ich meine Handschrift nicht schön genug finde und mir auch nicht immer ein interessanter Inhalt einfällt. Deshalb schreibe ich gerne absichtlich unleserlich. Ich fürchte, daß durch das viele Tippen meine Handschrift bereits gelitten hat. Ich werde da immer ungelenkiger, so mein Eindruck.
