Ohne Herbst in den Winterschlaf?
Wie im vorigen Beitrag angedeutet, sind einige Sträucher und Bäume schon im Sommer vertrocknet oder wenigstens ihre Blätter der Trockenheit zum Opfer gefallen. Im Sonnenlicht sehen auch die noch hübsch aus. Ich hoffe dennoch, daß der Regen jetzt was bringt, damit nicht noch mehr Pflanzen eingehen.
Zwischen den Sträuchern war es eigentlich zu dunkel zum Fotografieren und mit Blitz wäre es nicht gegangen. So sind die Bilder etwas unscharf. Mir gefällt aber der verwaschene Hintergrund und die weichen Lichterkreise.
Hier kommt ein „Moosgebirge“…
Das folgende Bild wollte ich eigentlich aussortieren, aber ich finde am unteren rechten Bildrand sieht es so aus, als würde ein Männchen den Brombeerstengel hinaufklettern ;-)
Interessant finde ich die feinen Härchen und die ‚lichtumkränzten‘ Stengel und Blätter.

Das dritte Foto und „das Männchen“ gefallen mir besonders.
Hier fetzt der Wind die Blätter gerade nur so herunter. Ich denke, der wirklich sehr schön energisch fallende Regen ist auch wichtiger für die Bäume als noch ein paar Tage mehr Blätter zu behalten. So ddof das klingt, aber es ist ja inzwischen völlig zeitgerecht.

Fast! Die letzten Jahre war es Ende September of sonnig und sehr warm. Aber ich bin froh für die Pflanzen und Bäume. Bevor noch mehr eingeht…und wir können auch frische Luft vertragen. Die Straßen schäumen hier richtig. Keine Ahnung, was da alles gelandet ist aus der Luft.

Endlich mal wieder genug Niederschlag, dass es für Pfützen reicht, das hatten wir lange nicht, aber Schaum nicht. Ist wohl eine „Stadtangelegenheit“, die man nicht wirklich wissen möchte.

Ich bin mir nicht sicher. Jemand sagte mir, daß es mit Auto und Fahrrad durchaus eine seifenartige Wirkung hätte. Ist mir jetzt noch nicht aufgefallen. Vielleicht sind es auch Stoffe aus den Bäumen neben dem ganzen menschengemachten Dreck.

Eine Mischung von allem wird es sein, inklusive abgespülte Putzmittel von Autos, Fenstern, etc.

Deine Miniaturwelten sind sehr schön, das Männlein …echt klasse geguckt! So ein Glück dass du es uns zeigt.
Ja…heut trat der nasse Herbst stürmisch ins Land. Mal sehen ob viele trockene Blätter weggerissen wurden.

Es liegt jedenfalls schon ne Menge Laub unten. Heute den ganzen Tag Regen und frisch. Sooo ungewohnt. Aber für die Pflanzen freuts mich und für die frische Luft auch :-) LG, Almuth

Ja, die armen Pflanzen. Mit Regen jetzt würden sich bestimtm viele wieder erholen, wenn es so bleibt, werden sicher viele nächste Jahr nicht wieder austreiben. Ein paar Tropfen hatten wir immerhin.

Hier hats den ganzen Tag geschüttet und ich bin auch froh, daß jetzt sicher noch ein paar mehr Sträucher überleben werden. Und wir bekommen auch endlich mal wieder frische saubere Luft!!!

I tried to translate the title and I think you’re talking about what we were talking about before – the problems caused by drought in summer. But don’t lose hope, there must be many trees that will behave more normally, with nice fall color, before the winter. At least I hope so!

You are a good translator :-) Yes, I meant the time between summer and autumn and that there are many dried leaves, yet. And dried trees. We had some heavy rain these days and I hope more trees are going to survive now. Besides even the dried leaves can be beautiful in the light, can’t they :-) We have some american oaks in front of our house. They start to change colour now and I love their colours. Your indian summer is so beautiful!!! Yes, I hope for a nice autumn too!!

No, I’m not a good translator, Google is! All I can translate is – 10 and wunderbar. ;-) We had rain too – not heavy – and there’s one fern that came back to life – it’s amazing, in some forests they all shot up, bright green like spring. Since we don’t have much freezing over the winter, they will be fine. Also, lots of tiny plants germinated on the forest floor – more green. I don’t know what they are, they’re too young, but maybe they will only last a few months. Interesting changes.
As for the oak, there are dozens and dozens of different oaks in this country, and many of them are special, like the Southern live oak (Quercus virginiana). Probably the one you’re talking about grows further north, and I bet it’s nice. There’s only one native oak here, and it’s uncommon.We don’t get a lot of bright, pretty Fall color in the trees here, not like other places in the US. People plant trees from other places if they want that. :-) But there’s always interesting color when you investigate closely, right?

I think many plants waited for this moment :-) You lucky one, without frost they can grow now. I am a bit afraid of a too early cold here. The birch on my balcony got new leaves 3-4 weeks ago. —
Interesting this Southern live oak! It looks so different, rather mediterranean. I haven’t seen an oak with such leaves. The „american oak“ (I only know this definition) I meant is Quercus rubra. And it has wonderful red and yellow leaves. Our oaks are just plain brown, the beeches yellow-orange-brown. The colour often comes from our maples here (they are all yellow in autumn) or from foreign trees. It must be similiar to your area, though we have more beeches, maple and oaks and less conifers at least where I live. I had to look the oaks up we have here (I have to admit I never really thought about it) and we have only 2 common oaks in Germany: Quercus petraea and Qercus robur. I will have a closer look at your oaks. There is a foreign maple in some gardens: Acer japonicum – I love the fine and reddish leaves. It is an eyecatcher!
Funny the word germinated in connection with plants. Here it would mean the bygone cultivation through the ancient Germanic people /Teutons. They used to live in forested areas – ithat fits somehow ;-)

A birch on your balcony sounds really, really nice….it will be OK, just maybe wasting some energy for now. That’s my hope.
Oaks are just a great plant family….there’s one in the redwood forests of California called tanoak that’s not what you expect from an oak either. When the southern live oaks get old they take on wonderful shapes – yes, a Mediterranean look. And they’re the trees you see with the Spanish moss (Tillandsia usneoides) in so many photos of the American southeast.

Quercus rubra – that’s like a „basic oak.“ ;-)
I’m familiar with the beech trees‘ color in autumn from the northeast. They’re beautiful trees, mainly because of the smooth gray bark and those pointed buds. Same with your beeches?
Oh, Acer japonicum – yes! It’s planted very often in the US; you see it in every botanical garden and many, many homes. So artistic. The other Pacific northwest common maple is Acer circinatum (called Vine maple, not because it’s a vine, but because it never gets very big). It has a similar look to Japanese maples, with thin branches, graceful growth, and leaves with 5-9 lobes, but not as deeply divided as Japanese maples. Sometimes they turn nice colors, too. It reminds me of our link across the Pacific to Aisa.
Thank you for pointing that out about germinate. Crazy, I love it. We all have deep roots in the soil, metaphorically and also in reality.

The tanoak reminds me almost of holly! Strange plants belong to the oakfamily. But very interesting! And I wouldn’t have thought that these trees with the spanish moss are oaks! They look so beautiful and mystic. Acer circinatum looks beautiful too. Oh, I think I need a park in the future :-) I am not sure about the beeches, I can’t remember pointed buds?!
I agree: language i.e. linguistic is very interesting. I love it too, to compare the words with our history. Here many names, peoples names, villages and places, come from damp landscapes. Northern Germany was moor in large parts (today only a „handful“ is left), wet country. And you find it in the names. Like you said: deep roots in the soil :-)
